Notes: The museum's T-28B was used as a Navy trainer and also as a photo plane by the U.S. Army. This two seat advanced trainer replaced the WWII AT-6 trainer. Production started in 1950. The Navy and Marine Corps ordered 489 "B" models in 1952 which adopted the R-1820 engine over the R-1300 in the "A" model, the same engine that powered the B-17 of WWII, which has the unique sound of a large radial engine.
